We realize that Squarespace coupon codes are floating around the web. Instead of having you browse untrusted websites looking for one, however, we’ve decided to offer the discounts ourselves. You won’t find a better deal on any third-party site.

New Personal and Unlimited Price Plans

Squarespace has recently made some major changes to their pricing plans. And thankfully, for the better I think! More options for less money. Instead of 3-5 plans of varying degrees, they have simplified it down to two plans- Personal and Unlimited. The Unlimited Plan includes everything the Business plan previously offered including-

  • SSL security
  • FAQ Modules, and
  • System Email Customization.

This Business (now Unlimited) plan has cost anywhere from $30-$50 in the past. Now, it’s as low as $16.50/mo * with the latest coupon! Try it for Free Here!

Resource of the Week: bite 47

bite47

Preamble

I received an email this week wondering why I would promote other Squarespace websites that are similar to my own (a Squarespace tips and tutorials- like site). Honestly, I was bit shocked and didn’t know exactly how to respond; especially since I was the one who originally requested help to an unrelated question. This was just an extra bit of “advice” (and no, this person / company is not mentioned anywhere so please don’t go thinking it’s someone who has offered advice before on this site!). Perhaps we have different goals and reasons for creating our blogs. I don’t begin to think I know near everything about Squarespace and I sure as heck don’t have the time to write about every angle and nuance about the software. But my #1 goal at Squarespace Plugins is to inform and educate. If that means readers leave my site to get the answers, so be it. In my experience, it takes an interconnected web of knowledge to create and grow a community. Hopefully by sharing other Squarespace websites, it will inform and bring others (along with readers and subscribers) to the platform for the benefit of everyone, FTW!

Resource of the Week

So without further ado, I bring you a new Resource of the Week: bite 47. It just happens (wink, wink) to be a Squarespace Tutorial blog. Well actually, it’s mainly a Squarespace Developer/Designer for hire company, but they are nice enough to include some of their Squarespace tips via a separate journal. Continue reading →

Add a Pinterest Pin it Share Button in Squarespace

How to Add a Squarespace Pinterest Button

After hours of googling and pretending I know more than I do about the trifecta that is javascript, html, and css, I think I have finally figured a way to add a Pin it Button to Squarespace without having to hand-code each link.

To find out more about the different Pinterest social media buttons, visit their goodies page (http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/).

Part of the reason the Pinterest Share Button is harder to code in Squarespace, is that each “Pin” must be associated with an image. Unfortunately, I have not found a Squarespace standard for images that would allow a script to scan posts and find, say the first image of each post.

However, Pinterest does have a bookmarklet script that users can drag and drop into the browser. It finds all the images on the associated page and lets the user choose which image to include. So the trick was to get that script into a Pinit Button. Have I lost you yet? Either way, just include the following code snippet and you will be able to add a Pin-it button that you can set and forget. Continue reading →

Top unofficial squarespace Resources

unofficial resources

Long time, no post! Yes, sorry for the delay in posts the past month “or so”! I have lots of really good excuses that I’ll keep short but sweet.

  1. We moved to the opposite side of the campground where wi-fi is non-existent.
  2. There is a national shortage on my ADD meds. Not to mention, about a 400% increase in price.
  3. It’s like I have one of those real jobs. Volunteering 20 hours a week does not lend itself to wanting to go home and stretch my brain any further. I don’t know how some of you work 40 hours AND have a blog!
  4. Due to #1 and #2, I have been “learning” how to knit. Look here, to see my abysmal attempts.
  5. I have three teenagers…that I homeschool…need I say more.

It looks like I won’t be back to regular posting until we leave our volunteer gig at the end of the month (Feb. 27). So, until I can get back on a regular schedule, I’ll provide you with some other squarespace websites and resources that have helped me out. Continue reading →
